Camping in the Drôme: between river and swimming pool, the pleasure of enjoying both
Between the Drôme, the Gervanne and the swimming pool: the pleasure of enjoying both
When planning your vacation, one question often comes up: should you choose a campsite with a swimming pool, or one on the banks of a river?
At Gervanne Camping, we’re lucky enough not to have to choose.
Located at the confluence of the Drôme and Gervanne rivers, our campsite enjoys an exceptional environment where nature and the pleasures of water meet. Here, vacations are lived simply, to the rhythm of the water, between swimming, discovering, relaxing and sharing moments with the family.

A gentle start to the day with an hour’s swim
Vacations are also a time to take it easy.
Every morning, from 9am to 10am, the pool is reserved for swimming. A popular moment for those who like a gentle start to the day.
A few laps will wake up your muscles, let you enjoy the calm of the morning and give you a moment to yourself before the day’s activities.
While the sun gradually illuminates the valley’s mountains, the swimming pool offers a peaceful setting to get your vacation off to a good start.
For many holidaymakers, this hour-long swim quickly becomes a little ritual they can’t do without.

Two rivers, two atmospheres
One of Gervanne Camping’s great assets is its direct access to the confluence of the Drôme and Gervanne rivers.
Just a few steps and you’re on your way to the riverbanks, enjoying an unspoilt natural environment.
The Drôme seduces with its clear waters, pebble beaches and emblematic landscapes, attracting swimmers, canoeists and nature lovers every year.
The Gervanne reveals a completely different face.
More discreet, wilder and more incised, it winds its way through the heart of a preserved environment where water has shaped magnificent limestone rocks over time.
Here, people come first and foremost to enjoy the fresh air, observe nature, fish or simply take a break in the shade of the trees. A few steps from the campsite, a small waterfall accessible from the petanque area offers a peaceful spot much appreciated by holidaymakers.
The Drôme and the Gervanne do not offer the same experience. And that’s precisely what makes their encounter so rich.

Did you know?
Gervanne Camping is located at the confluence of the Drôme and Gervanne rivers. The meeting of these two rivers creates a remarkable natural environment that contributes to the ecological richness of the site and the diversity of the landscapes surrounding the campsite.
Discover the Drôme differently by canoe
It’s impossible to talk about the Drôme valley without mentioning canoeing.
As the river flows by, the scenery slowly unfolds, revealing all its beauty. Pebble beaches, cliffs, vegetation and wilder areas offer a different spectacle at every turn.
With family or friends, canoeing is a great way to discover the Drôme in a different way, in a spirit of freedom and conviviality.
It’s a must for those who want to make the most of their stay in the valley.

A wealth of nature to observe and preserve
The meeting of the Drôme and Gervanne rivers creates a particularly favorable environment for biodiversity.
At the water’s edge, take the time to observe your surroundings. Dragonflies, herons, kingfishers and many other species find refuge in this remarkable natural area.
This richness is part of our region’s identity and deserves to be preserved.
With a few simple gestures, everyone can make a contribution:
- Respecting flora and fauna.
- Pick up litter.
- Use existing riverbank access.
- Avoid building pebble dams in the Drôme.
- Observe nature with discretion to preserve the tranquility of species living along the water’s edge.
Even when they appear harmless, cobble dams alter the natural circulation of water and can disrupt aquatic habitats.

Rediscover the pleasure of the pool
After a canoe trip, a day on the banks of the Drôme or a discovery of the surrounding area, the swimming pool offers a moment of relaxation appreciated by the whole family.
Children enjoy the pleasures of swimming while parents relax at the water’s edge.
During the hottest periods of summer, it also allows you to enjoy the pleasures of the water at any time of day.
The river and the pool are not opposites. They naturally complement each other, and each in its own way contributes to a happy vacation.

Vacations on the river
- Start the day with a few laps.
- Discover the Drôme by canoe or enjoy its pebble beaches.
- Take a break on the banks of the Gervanne and enjoy its cool waters.
- Observe unspoilt nature.
- Share a moment at the pool.
At Gervanne Camping, water is part of every vacation.
And in the end, happiness may not be a choice between river and pool.
It’s being able to enjoy both.
